So I made a video of this painting along with May 13, it’s actually in the middle of the video of May 13, This painting is 4 x 4 inches square, gouache over a hot pink acrylic underpainting, the dogwoods are blooming and my white dogwood is blooming but not my pink one, weird right? Either that or the pink one bloomed and I missed it.

I am always trying to improve my skills and that requires doing things that I am uncomfortable with like painting from life. I want to paint from life so, in order to do it, you have to just do it and keep doing it until you are happy with the results. I am unhappy with these results but I know that if I persevere then one day I will be happy with the result and that keeps me going.

Being an artist means continually learning and developing your craft. I have been at it for at least 4 years and a lot longer if you count the breaks in between. So I am going to embrace the journey and just enjoy the process. This is where I am at in my painting work/world. Check out the video to see my process and find out more about this painting.
